This much I know about...basic budgeting

I have been a teacher for 26 years, a Headteacher for 11 years and, at the age of 50, this much I know about basic budgeting. A fundamental truth about school budgets: If your costs rise but your income remains the same you have less spending power. There is one person in the whole country I need to understand this fundamental truth about school budgets, but I fear she doesn't...(and her Shadow isn't much better). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwKg7FqK6wM And as our costs continue to rise, our funding has fallen. Since 2010 we have had our capital budget cut by £349,000. I would love Nicky Morgan to visit the biggest school in York – which is one of the richest cities in the UK, which is the sixth biggest economy in the world – on a rainy day and see how many buckets we have to use to catch the water coming through our leaky ceilings.

BTW, the budget heading for Pupil Premium funding on our RM spreadsheet is still entitled Standards Fund...
